If you would like to introduce Picardy Penguin to your family concert audiences,
we currently have eight programs available.

Music, Music Everywhere!
Music is all around us throughout the day, when we get up, go to school, play games on the playground, fix dinner, and get ready for bed. We probably take music for granted, and Picardy Penguin asks, “What if there was no music at all?” You’ll hear an amazing thunderstorm by Beethoven and then sing along with the ever-popular “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” And together the kids can learn Picardy Penguin’s theme song, “Music can Make Your Life Complete.”

Let's Build the Tower of Music!
We’ve all heard of melody, rhythm and harmony, but have you ever thought about how those building blocks make up all the music you know? Picardy Penguin will show you how the music is built from the ground up, with popular classics such as Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” from his Ninth Symphony, a well-known march by Johann Strauss, and a sailor’s dance. And once again, the kids are invited to sing Picardy Penguin’s theme song, “Music can Make Your Life Complete.”

Meet the Orchestra
Come meet the many members of our orchestra family and discover how they all work together to create a symphony. Join Picardy Penguin as he learns about each of the instruments. You’ll hear the familiar overture to “Candide” and Maestro Lucas Richman’s “The United Symphony” which introduces each family of instruments. The audience will again sing along to Picardy’s familiar theme song “Music can Make Your Life Complete.”
Let's Tell a Story
Learn how music can create images and stories in your mind! Discover the ways in which music can make you happy, sad, scared or excited. Chase a musical bumblebee, visit a musical playground, sing along on a high seas adventure and join Picardy Penguin as he narrates the classic story of “Peter and the Wolf.” And once again, the audience is invited to sing Picardy Penguin’s theme song,
“Music can Make Your Life Complete.”
Hi-Low! Fast-Slow!
Picardy helps us explore how composers use contrasting ideas to tell musical stories through different feelings and emotions. The music of Haydn, Mussorgsky and Tchaikovsky, among others, leads into a fresh new take on the classic tale of "The Tortoise and the Hare." The audience will interact with “Mary Had a Little Lamb” sung in contrasting styles, along with Picardy Penguin’s theme song, “Music Can Make Your Life Complete.”
Sing with the Symphony
Young audiences are engaged from beginning to end in singing along with the orchestra and Picardy Penguin.  Marking various lifetime events, the selections range from “My Country ‘Tis of Thee,” “Yankee Doodle” and “Happy Birthday” to “If You’re Happy and You Know It…,” Brahms’ “Lullaby,” Wagner’s “Bridal Chorus” and Picardy Penguin’s theme song, “Music Can Make Your Life Complete.”
Shall We Dance?
Picardy helps us learn how music and dance have been linked together for centuries in many different styles, beats and tempos, ranging from classical ballet to tap and tango. The interactive concert will have the audience members dancing in their seats to music of Richard Rodgers and Tchaikowsky, among others, all leading into the "Hokey-Pokey" and Picardy Penguin's theme song, "Music Can Make Your Life Complete."
I Hear America Singing
People of all ages will enjoy this all-American sing-along with songs that accompany Americans at work, at play, and in patriotic celebrations. After joining Picardy in his theme song, "Music Can Make Your Life Complete," audience members will engage in favorite songs by Stephen Foster, classic folk tunes such as "Simple Gifts," "I've Been Working on the Railroad" and "Home on the Range" all leading into "God Bless America" and "Star-Spangled Banner."
