If you've arrived at this Young People's Concerts page on purpose, you are most likely already entrenched in the process of creating educational concerts for your orchestra. I often think of the process as attempting to put a puzzle together when you don't know what the puzzle actually looks like, the puzzle pieces are missing and the puzzle is supposed to have educational values while being entertaining for young people in diverse age groups-absolutely maddening! Well, to help the process, I've written and assembled a collection of works that we hope can assist you in your own educational programming:

  • All of the educational works listed here were created for and performed in concerts for young people.
  • Many of the offerings are interactive as sing-alongs or by other means.
  • Selections are grouped into categories that should aid in your programming process.
  • Scripted introductions for all selections are available upon request.
  • Sample concert packages are also offered in order to help you fulfill an entire concert-going experience.

We thank you for your devotion to young people and their musical education and hope you will find something here that eases your programming process and invigorates your concerts.
